Ryan Physical Therapy Associates evaluates and treats a wide variety of musculoskeletal, neurological and other physical dysfunctions including cervical, thoracic and lumbar strain, stenosis and disk disorders, sciatica, headaches, shoulder problems including instability, rotator cuff tears, sprains and strains and bursitis, elbow tendonitis including tennis and golfer’s elbow, wrist and hand syndromes, sprains and strains, carpal tunnel and over-use syndromes, hip, knee and ankle disorders (trochanteric bursitis, piriformis syndromes, muscle strains, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fascitis, tarsal tunnel), geriatric therapy (urinary incontinence and irritable bowel syndrome), degenerative arthritic conditions, fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, lymphedema, post-surgical therapy and rehabilitation, golf rehabilitation and conditioning.

Stephen D. Ryan received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Glassboro State College (Now Rowan University) in May 1977. He is a graduate of the US-Army Baylor Program in Physical Therapy and received both his Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in Waco Texas. He served in the US Army until 1982 when he became Director of Physical Therapy at Washington County Hospital. In 1986 he became Executive Director of the Mid-Atlantic Physical Therapy Center.
He was employed there until 1990 when he left to start his own practice, Ryan Physical Therapy Associates. He has been active in his Professional Association having served as Western District Chairman for the Maryland Chapter of The American Physical Therapy Association. On June 1, 2005, he was appointed to a four year term by Governor Bob Ehrlich to the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. In May 2009 he was reappointed by Governor Martin O'Malley and is now chair of the legislative committee. He has been a course presenter and lecturer at Penn State University and at The Hershey Medical Center. In addition to having an advanced Physical Therapy Degree, he is a Certified Weight Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Instructor. He has advanced clinical education in the treatment of Lymphedema and Golf Rehab. He has taught Prevention of Back Injuries for many years, among his many clients have been Roadway, The Washington County Board of Education, Corning Glass, and Letterkenny. Over the course of over 30 years of clinical practice, he has successfully rehabilitated and trained thousands of people from all walks of life, from 105 year olds to high level Division 1 college athletes. He is active in the community having coached youth soccer for 11 years, is a Rotarian and church lector.

Terry Cutchall has been with Ryan Physical Therapy since February 2004. He graduated from Penn State University in August of 2003 and was admitted to the Dean’s List. Cutchall is a certified personal trainer and is skilled in manual technology, mobilization and therapeutic exercise. Cutchall is trained to work with patients of all ages and demographics. In his spare time he enjoys weight lifting, computers and football.

David Everhart graduated from Carroll Community College in December of 1999, Magna Cum Laude, in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. Since graduation Dave has focused on sports medicine and out- patient orthopedics. Dave has also attended the University of Maryland, while there he worked as a student Athletic Trainer, gaining training room and on field experience. Through continuing education he continues to develop his manual skills and knowledge of Physical Therapy. In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons-Garrett & Caleb.

Deborah grew up in Massachusetts where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Salem State College. She was an elementary teacher for two years while traveling abroad in Australia. She received her Master and Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She has 30 years of clinical experience in pediatric physical therapy working with children ranging in age from 0 – 21years with a concentration in early intervention. She has worked in the NICU at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Easter Seals and as an independent contractor for Rock Creek School in Frederick, MD. She has also worked at the Lincoln Intermediate Unit in Chambersburg, PA and for the Washington County Board of Education. She is married to Dr. Steve Ryan and has four children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is a church volunteer and also enjoys reading, walking her dog, traveling, tennis and a variety of gym classes. |

Barbara Winebrenner |

Barbara Winebrenner grew up and attended college in New Jersey at Douglass College, Rutgers University. She then pursued her degree in Physical Therapy at the school of Allied Medical Professionals at the University of Pennsylvania. Since graduating, Barbara has concentrated all of her 30 years of clinical experience in pediatrics from the pediatric NICU acute care patients at St. Christopher Hospital for Children in Philadelphia to the Early Intervention Team at the Washington County Board of Education. She has been treating not only infants but children ages 0 – 21. Barbara is married to Dr. Robert Winebrenner, and they have three adult children. She is active in her church community, loves to exercise and cook and entertain her family and friends.
